Sherri McMullen has spent 15 years as a shopper, using her position to support color designers and advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion in the fashion world. Staying true to that mission, McMullen opened his name idea store in Oakland in 2007, with the participation of emerging and established designers such as Khaite, Christopher John Rogers, Rachel Comey, Proenza Schouler, etc.

“After working for fashion groups for many years, I wanted to do something for myself,” she told the Cut.

We talked to McMullen about France, the early years, and Bottega Veneta.
