BLAST Premier 2022 Season: New Format Explained

The entire BLAST Premier 2022 Season has been broadly divided into Spring and Fall, culminating in the December Global Finals with a prize pool of $1 million USD.

Each season will begin with a ‘Group’ featuring twelve participating CS:GO teams. The competing teams will be seeded, based on which they will be divided into three groups of four teams each.

Each group will then be divided into a knockout group, where each match will be a single match. This is to determine a team’s position in a teamfight, where each match will be a best-of-three series. From here, the top six teams will automatically qualify for the “Final Round” of the season while the remaining six will be relegated to the “Qualifiers”.

During the ‘Showdown’, six teams from the ‘Groups’ will be joined along with ten other CS:GO teams. This will include a direct invited global top team and nine other teams qualifying for different regions from around the world.

These 16 teams will be divided into two groups of eight each, the first being ‘Europe and CIS’ while the second will be ‘NA and the East of the World’. The winners of each group will advance to the ‘Finals’, joining six other teams.

In the ‘Final’, these eight teams will play against each other in a doubles knockout format, with the winner being crowned Spring or Fall champions.

The winners of the two seasons will directly qualify for the ‘Global Finals’ where they will join six other teams, including the winners of the CS:GO Major(s), ESL Pro Leagues and the top two ranked teams according to the world rankings.
