Coronavirus surge in Europe leads to lockdowns, restrictions and frustrations

Slovakia, which has more new infections per capita than any other country in the European Union, announced a two-week shutdown on Wednesday. People are allowed to leave their homes for certain reasons, including grocery shopping, going to work and school, and vaccinations. And starting next week, all workers will have to prove they’ve been vaccinated, recovered from the coronavirus, or tested negative recently.
