God of War Anchor of Fog Locations: How to unlock the realm of Tears in Ivaldi .’s Workshop

The Neo of Fog in God of War is an item you need to access Realm Tears in Niflheim. While most of the Kingdom’s Tears can be opened simply by Kratos placing his hand on them, the three in the central chamber of the Ivaldi Workshop require an Anchor of the Mist to open. Although this is an item that spawns in random locations, we will show you the best method to get the Anchor of Fog in God of War.

How to get the fog’s anchor in God of War

When you to Niflheim in God of War you will have a chance to join Ivaldi’s Workshop. One of the side quests highlighted in the workshop involves opening up three regions of tears with the Anchor of Mist. However, you don’t really get any hint as to where you need to go to get the anchor.

Like Aesirbane, Niflheim Alloy and Haze Weave, Anchor of Fog spawns randomly in chests you find throughout Ivaldi’s Workshop. The Anchor is a legendary item and the rarest of the Niflheim specific items. That means to get the three you need to open your tears, you’ll have to grind through the workshop quite a few times.

The Anchor God of the Fog

There are a few things you can do to increase your chances of getting an Anchor of Fog in God of War:

  • Open all chests: Each time you open a chest during a run through the workshop, you increase the likelihood of the next chest containing rarer items.
  • The better the chest, the more likely it is to accommodate the anchor: Chest rarity takes into account the items you’ll get, even in Niflheim. You will probably only find the Anchor of Fog in a gold chest.
  • Keep going until the end: Anchors are more likely to appear when you are near the end of the path. From the first room, which leads to the mound where the land of tears is located, select the right or left tree branch and stick it there.

The main drawback of hunting the Anchor of Fog is that the fog will continue to cover you. Considering that the anchor has the best chance of spawning in the end room of the right or left branch, there’s always the chance that you’ll catch one and not be able to return to the entrance fast enough.

Also, there seem to be some prerequisites you have to meet in order to get the Third Anchor of Fog in God of War. The theory is that you either need to clear each room on both the left and right paths before it spawns or you need to kill the Valkyrie before getting it. I shot down Valkyrie before I started looking for the anchors so I can’t confirm if she would have a problem getting the third one.
