Spider-Man: There’s no way home brought back a host of familiar faces from the Sam Raimi Spidey trilogy, not least Tobey Maguire himself. But while Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina and Thomas Haden Church (at least by title) reprized their roles in the blockbuster trilogy, the original Mary Jane Watson did not. In fact, it turns out the actress hasn’t even arrived yet see movie yet.
While talking to Everyone, Dunst admitted that she has yet to see the Marvel/Sony co-production, though she does know that her former co-star and on-screen love interest are interested in Maguire’s features in it. The power of the dog However, the star plans to catch up, as she thinks she can entice her young son and growing Spidey fans, to watch it with her.
“I have not. I’m sorry!” Dunst said. “I know I have to. I know [Tobey Maguire’s] in there and it was a huge surprise and it took everyone by surprise. I will. I’ll see it eventually. You know, I’ll be watching it with my son, because he’s starting to get used to Spider-Man stuff. Yes, like a baby version of Spiderman that he watches, so maybe he’ll watch it with me. “
Although she has yet to experience the film herself, Dunst has continued to reflect on how she is proud to be a part of the series. Spiderman inherit and appreciate Maguire, as well as Great Andrew Garfield of the franchise, a return to the Marvel universe makes sense for everyone. She also makes the point that it is becoming more and more difficult to see childhood favorites come back, given the current global situation.
“It is a great legacy to be a part of, and be a first and foremost a Spider-Man fan. I feel it’s something really special because these fans have lived with these movies for so long and have grown with it,” she continued. “Those are legacy things that feel really interesting. It’s nice to be excited about something. We are all dealing with a lot of things right now. ”
Along with Spideys and the villains, it is also rumored that both Dunst and Emma Stone will reprise the roles of MJ and Gwen Stacy in There is no way home, too. Both actresses deny this is the casehowever, prior to release, Dunst jokeed that if she came back, she would be “an old MJ this time with little Spidey kids”. Just as she was joking, seeing Maguire’s Parker and Dunst’s Watson starting a family together sounds like something fans will really love.
Who knows, with Spider-Man: There’s no way home was a phenomenal success, maybe Dunst will have a chance to return to MJ. Though maybe she needs to make sure she’s caught up with the movie beforehand.
